Miramar Bistro in Highwood

Had been a couple years since last visited. Mexican music in a French restaurant was not working for me. All of the waiters are not friendly and could care less what you order. Most important their masks were basically only over their mouth and then as soon as they turned around would pull completely down.My salad was so salty I couldn't taste any of thenother flavors and didnt eat it.Dissapointed for sure.

Great Cuban/French bistro , offering fresh shellfish, salads, steak frittes and fish. Excellent french onion soup. Good wine list with wide selection of wine by the glass/carafe (0.5l)/bottle. Quick and efficient service.

Would definitely recommend trying out this place. Great mood, yummy food, good customer service. Highly recommended.

Wonderful atmosphere. I enjoyed the shrimp, chicken tenders, crab cake as starters. The special was very delicious and the desserts were great. The device was perfect.

The food and service were excellent. We picked from the specials menu as well as the regular menu. We ordered the duck - Excellent. The burger came with something like shoe string fries. Regular fries on request. The profiteroles were fantastic. The place is quite expensive but delivers a fine dining experience. Decor is nice. You can see the Cuban influence. Very close to the metra so easy to plan a quick trip from the city.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner (about 25 ppl) here back in September and we couldn't have been more happy. Miramar did everything to make the evening perfect for us from setting out decorations we had dropped off days prior to catering to our last minute needs the night of. Food was delicious and in plenty. We did a package deal and there was MORE than enough food-- even for people with allergies. Definitely would host another party there again!

Excellent food, great service and plenty of ambience.

Started the night off well with good oysters on the half shell and attentive service. Nice cocktails and ambience too.The entrees were terrible. My wife took one bite of her fish and refused to eat any more. I had the duck which was overcooked. It was obvious that we hadn’t taken more then two bites of food but the entrees were not removed from the bill. And that bill was over $200...The food was super disappointing especially because of the price point. I will not be going back.

Surely a spot worth stopping by, the food is fantastic and fresh, the pricing is reasonable and it is constantly well kept there. Highly recommended.

One of my all time faves! Duck confit salad is my fave, if you want something light .. otherwise indulge in anything you see on the menu! It's truly delicious. I think we have tried everything and it never disappointed.

Great food and wait staff. My wife and I love Miramar and eat here as often as we can.

I came around 830 pm, the table was in the way back and the service was bad. First they forget the drinks then the water takes forever. The soup took 30 min and the waiter did not come buy one time. The dinner took another 35 min after the soup. There was no apology the waiter was so unware. The waiter did not come back one time to check on the food. The burger was not even cooked properly again the waiter did not recognize what was wrong. The service was so horrendous that they didn’t even know what was going on. Usually this restaurant is very great and the service but yesterday the service was inexcusable and not even checking on the food or making up an excuse when a burger is not cooked properly. Bad experience yesterday.

The selections of the Tacos were delicious. Friendly staff! The service is fast you don’t wait to be served. The place is clean with amazing ambience and wonderful menu selection.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and made a note on my reservation but the server never acknowledged the birthday which was very upsetting

Excellent food. The dishes are well thought out, nicely assorted, and cooked to perfection. The service was very good too. Any suggestions of improvement would require me to be overly picky.

We arrived at this spot for lunch. we heard about this restaurant from a lot of people. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will visit this place again. Recommended.

I love this place .......

Came on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Plenty of free street parking around. Had a French Onion Soup with perfectly baked cheese topping and good, thick broth. The Croque Madame and Frites was a very generous portion. A great spot for brunch in the Highwood/Highland Park area.

The staff was super helpful but not overly attentive. The atmosphere makes for a great date spot, dark and intimate. The food is absolutely fantastic, complementary nuts, olives and bread with the meal. The desert is to die for. Parking isn't ideal but I found a street parking spot less than a block away.

Fine dining, great food and service. Their Cuban decor and music style provides a refined latino flavor. However, know that the menu is French.

Had a awesome experience in this place with my wife. The food came quickly and the service is just excellent. Prices are affordable.

Everything is made super fresh right in front of you, so it might not be as quick as some other places where items are sitting in trays, but it's worth it. Portions are large and prices are very fair.

I regularly stop getting some food in here. I like the fast customer service and well prepared food. Keep it up.

Always a pleasure dining here. In the warmer months they open all their doors and windows and a nice breeze is felt. You can choose to sit outside or inside. Staff wears masks and disinfects you’re space prior to seating. Food is so delicious! Try the escargot.

The service at this place is among the best I have experienced. The food is amazing. Wished they had the delicious Cuban sandwich on the evening menu. Have been here several times and they consistently perform at the highest levels.

The food and service were ahead of our expectations. We really loved the atmosphere of this place. Superb spot to take the family out for lunch.

Four of us went there on Sunday at 2:30. The escargot was tender and flavorful, they had absorbed the herb and oil marinade very well. My croque madame sandwich was large, dense, and had a good mustard in it. Way too many pomme frites, and those weren't particularly good (too dry and thin, they didn't have much taste) but considering I didn't know they came with the sandwich nor expected them, they were mostly ignored. Everyone else in my party loved their food too, especially the eggs Benedict and crepes.I loved the decor of the place too. The owner reclaimed a lot of old tiles, a tin ceiling, and 100 year old urinals which only half the visitors might ever see.

Classy. Great food and service. Sit outside in the nice weather 🌞 best service staff in the Chicago area. Or really anywhere actually !
